A very enthusiastic race but very difficult at the same time. We start Saturday morning with free trials, very cold and cloudy. In the afternoon it starts to rain and I’m forced to mount the rain tyres, in the afternoon during the first shift I run into an accident, I’m going to aquaplaning, I skid and number 40 behind me hits me and breaks the left tie-rod of the steering wheel. 

Poor my damaged kart, my mechanic recovers it from the track under pouring rain. We check the kart frame, I’m lucky there’s no damage, we replace the tie-rod of the steering wheel and I’m ready to continue. In the next two shifts I’m going very well, my kart is fast and handles well on bends also thanks to a change on the front gear.

Sunday I wake up and look out of the window and…. Oh my goodness!! It rains awfully and strong cold wind is blowing, we go the paddock I change and wear the waterproof suit and shoos cover and try for the first time the turbo visor of my helmet.

The warm-up starts I’m going fast, maybe too fast, insomuch as the commissioners decide to change my loving motor with a sealed one of their choice. I’m sad… the qualification trials start, I leave trustfully  and already after the first lap I start going fast keeping the time as I would do with my own motor, it was not it but myself going fast!!! Smile is on my face . In the two shifts in the afternoon I’m so fast  and always lie ahead even if the track looks more like a river than a circuit…. It was a very exciting experience to drive under the rain, despite the cold and the difficulties. We recover my old motor at the parc fermé , I’m going to get the cup, get on the car with my daddy to go back, 280 km separates us from home, I fell asleep, tired but very happy.
